Terry Dorsey

Terry Dorsey was a beloved country music radio morning personality whose 46‑year career reached its peak in the Dallas–Fort Worth market.  His radio journey began in Dayton, Ohio, in 1977 at WONE-FM, and he transitioned to Dallas in 1981 at KPLX 99.5 FM.  In 1988, he became the host of the “Dorsey Gang” morning show on KSCS 96.3 FM alongside Mark “Hawkeye” Louis.  The program would later be re-named Dorsey & Hawkeye.   Under his stewardship, KSCS-FM dominated the Dallas-Fort Worth radio ratings for 26 consecutive years.   In all, Terry Dorsey’s 37+ years of Morning Drive radio in the Dallas-Fort Worth area made him one of the longest running air personalities in market history.

Terry Dorsey received every major industry honor, including Major Market Personality of the Year from the Country Music Association (1986), awards from the Academy of Country Music and Billboard Magazine, and inductions into the Country Radio DJ Hall of Fame (2006) and the Texas Radio Hall of Fame

His final broadcast aired on December 17, 2014; he passed away just three months later in early 2015.

In 2023, Terry Dorsey received a Legends Induction into the Radio Hall of Fame.
