SWAY CALLOWAY

Sway Calloway parlayed his talent as a locally known rapper in the Oakland Bay area into co-hosting a syndicated show with DJ King Tech on KMEL.

The Wake Up Show featured interviews, politics and freestyles with well-known and independent artists like The Roots, JayZ and Eminem. It was syndicated to 20+ cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Philadelphia, West Indies and Japan. This led to a record deal with Interscope Records and the album This or That was #1 on the Top Heatseekers chart in 1999.

Sway Calloway hosted morning drive in San Francisco ( 106-KMEL Sway in the Breakfast Club) and New York (WQHT-FM Renegade Radio ).

Currently, Sway in the Morning (with Heather B and Tracy G) is on Eminem’s Shade 45 Channel on SiriusXM and has been since 2011. He joined MTV In 2000 and has since interviewed President Obama at the White House, U2 and Lil Wayne as a music aficionado.

Sway was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2020.
