2025 Legends Inductees

The Museum of Broadcast Communications announced today the selection of eight new Legends inductees into the Radio Hall of Fame for 2025, recognizing the talents and efforts of on-air personalities, programmers and operators who contributed with greatness to the radio industry and have since passed away.

The following eight radio legends take their place in the Radio Hall of Fame immediately:

• Amos Brown - On-Air Personality

• Richard Burden - Broadcast Engineer

• Joanne Church – Research Executive

• Jed The Fish - On-Air Personality

• Irna Phillips – Scriptwriter, Producer and Programming Executive

• Steve Smith - Programming Executive

• Dale Sommers - “The Truckin’ Bozo,” On-Air Personality

• Don Wade - On-Air Personality

Dennis Green, Co-Chair of the Radio Hall of Fame, said: “It is with the utmost sense of pride that we bestow Hall of Fame induction upon the Legends of Radio who are gone but will never be forgotten. These iconic broadcasters made a lasting impact on the industry, and we honor them and their contributions to the rich history of radio.”

Kraig Kitchin, Co-Chair of the Radio Hall of Fame, said: “Each of these individuals contributed to the growth and vibrance of our radio industry and are worthy of induction. I’m thrilled to see recognition for their talents and efforts and heartened that their family, friends and colleagues can witness this well-deserved honor.”

The Radio Hall of Fame will recognize its 2025 class of inductees at the 2025 Radio Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the Swissotel Hotel, 323 E. Wacker Dr., Chicago, IL. Tickets are on sale now. A portion of ticket purchases is a tax-deductible charitable donation to the Museum of Broadcast Communications.
