As the host of The Dave Ramsey Show, Dave Ramsey has been equal parts economist and counselor, examining the good and bad ways that listeners are affected by money and personal debt. Ramsey was a personal financial coach when he began his radio career in 1992, as one of three rotating hosts of The Money Game on WWTN/Nashville. Eventually, The Money Game became The Dave Ramsey Show, a daily three-hour call-in show.

Since the beginning of his broadcasting career, Ramsey has drawn on his personal experiences — both positive and negative — to offer listeners a message that talks about both money and hope, with a combination of financial and personal discussion.

In 1996, Ramsey began self-syndicating The Dave Ramsey Show nationwide. Over the next two decades, it has become the country’s third-largest nationally syndicated talk show, heard on over 550 radio stations in the United States.

In addition to his radio show, Ramsey has written five best-selling books related to personal finance and business and he has developed personal finance curriculum materials for use in middle schools, high schools and colleges. In conjunction with the show’s local affiliates, Ramsey also hosts live events devoted to personal finance and challenges facing small business.

Dave Ramsey was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2015.
