CHARLIE VAN DYKE
Charlie Van Dyke enjoyed a 60-year career as both a radio personality and voiceover artist, starting his radio career at age of 14. In his years on broadcast radio, he was heard in Dallas, Detroit, San Diego, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston and Phoenix. Through the majority of his multi-decade career, he was the Morning Drive personality on many accomplished Top 40 and Adult Contemporary and Classic Hits music formatted radio stations. Those radio stations included KXIL-FM, KLIF-AM and KVIL-FM in Dallas, CKLW-AM in Detroit, 610 KFRC in San Francisco, KGB-AM in San Diego, KHJ-AM and KRTH 101 FM in Los Angeles, WLS-AM in Chicago, WKRO-AM in Boston in addition to KTAR-AM, KFYI-AM and KGLQ-FM in Phoenix. His deep voice and warm personality earned him ratings success and industry acclaim over his successful career. Van Dyke also served as a frequent guest host on the syndicated program, American Top 40 with Casey Kasem, hosting the program 30+ times in the 1980’s.
Charlie’s voice was also heard on more than 25 television stations in more than a dozen television markets, providing his voiceover skills in recorded promotion and imaging messages. In many cases, his voice was heard for decades on those stations, including WABC TV, New York City and others.
Throughout his career, Charlie Van Dyke has earned industry recognition from radio industry programmers and on-air personality peers.
In 2026, Charlie Van Dyke was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame.
