BOOMER ESIASON
Boomer Esiason became the voice New York City area sports fans wake up to starting in 2007 on WFAN AM/FM. That was only after Esiason embarked on a broadcast career as an NFL analyst in 2000 on both radio and television, utilizing his knowledge as a successful 14-year NFL quarterback for three teams. In short order, Esiason found success in New York on broadcast radio, creating one of the most successful programs in sports radio history. Esiason has defined excellence in the industry’s most competitive market. In March 2026, he became the longest-tenured morning drive host in WFAN history, a milestone that underscores both his consistency and connection with listeners. His first program was titled “Boomer & Carton” alongside Craig Carton. The show quickly rose to #1 in the New York City market, maintaining its dominance throughout a decade-long run. In 2018, the program transitioned seamlessly to “Boomer & Gio” with Gregg Giannotti, continuing its position as a ratings leader.
Esiason was a NFL quarterback with the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals before initiating a broadcast career as an NFL analyst for both ESPN and later, Westwood One Sports. Esiason holds the distinction as an analyst for more Super Bowl broadcasts than any radio personality in history, spanning 19 consecutive seasons across television and radio. He called 18 straight Super Bowl broadcasts on Westwood One. From 2011 through 2025, he also anchored “Sports Minute,” one of the most widely distributed daily features in network radio.
In addition, Boomer Esiason was seen on CBS-TV’s The NFL Today for 20+ years as co-host of the highly rated pre-game program, in addition to hosting other sports oriented programs on cable television.
Equally impactful is his work off the air, founding the Boomer Esiason Foundation, raising more than $175 million to advance research, improve access to care.
