BOB GRANT

Bob Grant was a New York City broadcasting veteran who was considered a pioneer of the conservative talk format and an early adopter of the “combat talk” format.  Grant’s celebrated and controversial career took him from Chicago to Los Angeles and finally New York, where he ruled the airwaves on WABC and WOR.

He tussled with public officials and sometimes his own callers terminating conversations with his signature phrase, “Get off my phone!”

Grant was born in Chicago, attended the University of Illinois and began his broadcasting career in the 1940’s on WBBM.  He then graced the airwaves in Los Angeles at KNX and then KABC before heading to New York City in 1970.

Bob’s radio shows were entertaining and passionate and included interviews with countless political leaders and celebrities.  His work inspired a generation of political talk radio hosts including Radio Hall of Famers Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and Mark Levin.

In 2023, Bob Grant received a Legends Induction into the Radio Hall of Fame.
