GERRY HOUSE


Gerry House is best known for his long-running, successful morning show at WSIX-FM in Nashville, Gerry House and the House Foundation, a Nashville institution for nearly 25 years.  

Gerry’s career began in Richmond, KY, with stops in Ithaca, NY and Jacksonville, FL, before joining WSIX-FM /Nashville in 1975 for the first two tenures.   In 1985, he moved to WSM-AM/Nashville before heading to KLAC-AM/Los Angeles.  By 1987, he returned to Nashville and WSIX-FM again where he remained until his retirement in 2010.   

He also hosted nationally syndicated radio shows including "Countryline USA", "America's Number Ones" and "The Saturday Night House Party." House was inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame in 2009 and was the first Country radio inductee into the NAB Radio Hall of Fame in 2011.

House also had a successful career as a songwriter, writing No. 1 hits for Reba McEntire, George Strait, LeAnn Rimes and Pam Tillis. His songs have also been recorded by Brad Paisley, Randy Travis, Trace Adkins and Clint Black, among others.

In 2023, Gerry House was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame.
